Maths Performance Task - Personal Reflection

(I) Role of Statistics in Real Life

In my opinion, statistics is like collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data. Data can be represented by histograms,dot diagram and many more other graphs. It can show people information about their activities. Example. Amount of water they use everyday to the amount of people in singapore. I have seen bar graphs and line graphs in news about frequency of crimes or deaths of people in a certain place. In newspaper articles, they uses graphs to enable the reader to infer easier without reading in depth.

(II) Learning Experience

Our group worked step by step towards our goal. We split up to do different things like me doing the scoping and the rest finding the bus services and determining the zones and neighborhood. Our strengths are that we can communicate well regardless of the situation. We could also be serious in our roles or duties. Ruo yu and mark were supposed to make the scape of the poster and the conclusion of the graphs. Yi de was making the introduction. I was leading them while also doing the rest of the jobs like writing the inference and the conclusions beside the graphs.

Some challenges can be that sometimes we get distracted by other factors that we left our jobs undone. Regardless, the other group members still called him to focus on his work. Also, we could have some technical problems like unable to send the data around. We still stayed on and continue to send through email and other ways. If i have another project, I would organise my members better and give them more things to occupy and let them contribute as much as they can. While me the leader, leads them, i would ensure them not to quarrel within each other.

Reflect~Demonstrate~

10/2/2011: Reflection on CNY Hamper

We were discussing, shopping within our budget. We have finished a hamper within the budget.We are making the elderly happy during the CNY celebration so they can feel the same feeling as us during CNY like the warmth and love from other people. We could pay a visit to them and company them.

Reflection for the orientation weeks

My highlights were the high elements, making friends and tower above the rest.

My "low" moments were the tower above the rest,the campfire as i was unwell and lastly the day when we left the camp.

Its was the 3 "r"s, the zones in the camp and the courage to climb the high elements.

I learnt that we can achieve anything as long as we have the courage to try. At least, we have a better chance of being success than the people that do not even try.

I hope to achieve good marks in examinations and successfully go through the stages that is hard to pass.

Communication

4. What difficulties do you face in communicating with others?

It is important as we can express our thoughts to other people via the communication.

Verbal is my favourite as i like to talk to express my thoughts and receive reply immediately.

I would see whether the situation is sever or maybe not really important and needs a reply immediately.So, usually, i would talk.

Sometimes, I could not pronounce the words i want to say but on the other hand, while typing, sometimes i couldn't spell the words i want to say.

Prime Numbers thoughts

A mathematician proposed that "Every even number greater than 2 can be expressed as a sum of prime numbers."

Do you agree? Why?I agree as the number can be expressed into smaller numbers.

Example: Any even number is a multiple of 2 so can be divided by 2.

Ans:I did reading from 7.30 to 7.40.

Sang the national song from 7.40 to 7.50.

The principle talked from 7.50 to 8.15.

And there is an admin period from 8.15 to 8.45.

Ms Lim introduced herself from 8.46 to 8.50.

The PSL shared experience from 8.50 to 9.

We played icebreakers fro 9 to 10.

We had our recess or break from 10 to 10.30.

We went to the hall and learned our school cheers and dances from 10.30 to 11.30.

Then,we learned about the 3R from 11.30 to 12.30.

Its lunch from 12.30 to 1.30.

After that, we had briefing from 1.30 to 2.

We went back to classrooms to do our mac attack from 2 to 4.30.

Feelings when accepted by SST

I felt happy when i got accepted by SST.I was exhilarated when i just received the phone call and every second was like in slow-motion.
